You truly keep us all going, with a smile and pep in your step. Thank you 😊 💕
I have been practicing yoga for over 25 years, 10 of those have been with Laurie Croft at Wholistic Journey. What I love about all of her classes is the consistency, accessibility for all levels, her direction with helpful corrections and Laurie’s outgoing personality.
When the world shut down and kept us all at home, Laurie did not miss a beat. She started teaching online classes. These classes became a lifesaver. Not only was she able to continue to guide us through an invigorating yoga practice. She took her care, compassion, and coaching skills to the mat and became part of our emotional and mental wellbeing. Her classes are now even a bigger part of my self-care routine then ever before.
During the past year I experienced an injury to my lower back, which took several months to heal. I was not able to walk or drive for weeks. Laurie and her Yin yoga classes were my go-to, as well as a big part of my healing. Better yet, it was an offering available online! I love how easy it has become to have yoga in my home or wherever I happen to be. There is no rushing to drive somewhere or dealing with traffic or severe weather conditions.
I absolutely feel spoiled and happy for the opportunity to practice with Laurie.
Whether you decide to attend a class in person or online, trust in knowing Laurie brings her love, lighthearted spirit and years of experience to every class she teaches.
Jane and I started attending your yoga classes about 2 years ago (Oct 2019).
Jane had some experience with yoga, but I was stone-cold new. I was 62 and out of shape, somewhat overweight, and mostly cranky.
Since starting, we have attended at least 4 times a week and gave a try to the different class times and styles. The classes have kept me engaged for all this time! Partly because one can go at their own pace, and partly because Martin, Bill and I keep attendance on each other. It's also pretty cool that the zoom transition has let most everyone attend from far flung places!
I can report I'm in much better shape, have lost about 15 lbs., and can say my balance has greatly improved! And my flexibility is better than I imagined it could ever be at my age.
I feel the morning classes are right for our schedule, and while the in-person experience was best, the zoom transition works really well.
I like the personal level of support to make sure everyone in the class is doing the right things. It's also great that the classes I attend alternate intensity over the week. And you seem to have a sixth sense about when to 'switch it up' a bit to keep the class from being repetitive, without throwing too much new at us at once.
Getting involved with yoga has given me the incentive to get going on some other physical activity, like swimming; and the periodic 'extras' you add, like Boatober or Planksgiving have been bonuses that are great.
Thank you Laurie for all of your help the last couple of months! With quarantine in full effect, it became a little too easy to form bad habits and exceedingly more difficult to form good habits. I knew I needed help. I immediately thought of the one and only, Laurie Croft. We ended up meeting on a consistent basis and she helped with more than I could have ever imagined. She helped me form goals, take measurements, stay on track and make plans for weekends away. She provided a listening ear with zero judgment and gave excellent advice based on her experience and expertise. Laurie is a role model especially when it comes to health and fitness. It has been so exciting to see all of our hard work starting to pay off. It’s the little day to day efforts that have made the difference. I am indeed forming good habits, putting a stop to the bad and accomplishing things that I was having a lot of trouble getting done. I feel so much better overall in both my mental and physical health. I am lucky to have her as my accountability coach and as a friend!
My husband and I moved to Florida two years ago. One of my goals was to find a yoga class with a knowledgeable and competent instructor. I was disappointed in the past with classes that were too fast, difficult to follow and provided no feedback to avoid potential injury. The fitness benefits of yoga are tremendous if instructed properly.
Laurie Croft was exactly what I was looking for. Laurie moves at a perfect pace and is continuously providing postural, movement and breathing tips to maintain safety and efficiency.
My husband and I joined Laurie’s yoga class together and we have been loyal regulars four days a week for the past two years. Thanks, Laurie, for doing such a great job.
I have been taking Laurie’s yoga classes several times a week for the last 18 months. I started because I wanted to increase flexibility, balance, muscle usage, and improve breathing. In addition, I was hoping to find a stress reliever and an activity that would put some discipline in my life during the pandemic. I found all of these. At first, yoga was a chore, but now I really look forward to the activity and miss it when I cannot attend. Laurie makes the class fun, and the results are well worth the effort.
Online yoga sessions have been a physical, spiritual and emotional lifeline during the greatest health crisis in my lifetime. I am able to reconnect, usually four times a week, with people I have had shared conversations with for more than six months. At the same time, I am improving my strength and conditioning so that I feel better in my body. And, I can bounce back quickly from injuries or over exertion. The greatest gift has been able to push aside those negative or troubling thoughts through meditation.
During these uncertain times when much is unknown we certainly appreciate Laurie Croft providing online yoga. Being able to participate in yoga wherever we are in the world is a blessing & provides us peace and health. She has put our safety first and for that we certainly give her thanks .
Love the yoga classes at Wholistic Journey. Laurie is a wonderful teacher and her classes are always fun and challenging. But not too challenging. They’re just right.
